Barbicop — Barbicopium

Feeling bored, Barbicop dives into the digital game world known as Barbicopium, a utopian realm that reconstructs reality whilst selectively filtering out its undesirable aspects. As a result, she gets bathed in wacky and melodious pop songs that craft her ideal haven. In Barbicopium, all problems seem to be avoided. Barbicop’s second EP released via Mouthwatering Records comically guides listeners through the life and death of the Barbicop character, inviting them to blur the lines between the digital and the organic.

Emerging from scenes between Berlin and Switzerland in late 2022, Barbicop’s first year of releasing and touring left crowds with an intriguing blend of unconventional pop—a fusion of smooth and edgy, mainstream yet quirky, worldly yet ethereal. Her infectious energy, coupled with a close-knit bond with her fellow musicians (her brother and childhood friend) leaves audiences both joyfully moved and pleasantly perplexed.
