Solong — When The Night Hits

With “When The Night Hits”, Swiss alternative artist Solong presents a cohesive four-track EP moving through inner grounding, emotional change, desire, and quiet release. Across the record, she explores how to stay present within uncertainty—whether alone, in love, or in transition. The first two Releases of the EP have already resonated widely, being added to playlists such as Sommer Chillout, Equal GSA, New Music Friday Switzerland, and Swiss Made.

“Feel The Heat” explores unconventional desire and emotional contradiction. Blending indie songwriting with soul and funk-tinged grooves, it captures the pull of attraction that can’t be neatly resolved, but simply felt.

“Falling Out” reflects on a close friendship in transformation and the fear of drifting apart. With raw vocals, warm guitars, and droning synths, it sits in emotional in-between spaces—tender, compassionate, and unresolved.

“Where Do Lost Dreams Go?” is a stripped-back ballad on letting go. Built on raw vocals and worn, soulful guitar, it lingers in the space between grief, acceptance, and quiet healing.

The title track “When The Night Hits” hits with a mantra-like search for inner safety. Groovy rhythms, dancy synths, and a soft emotional pulse build into a hypnotic, hopeful dance outro about finding light within overwhelm.

Musically, “When The Night Hits” moves between alternative indie, singer-songwriter, soul, funk, and experimental pop, shaped by influences such as King Hannah, Cat Power, PJ Harvey, Blake Mills, and Patti Smith. Solong’s sound is defined by contrast: raw yet delicate, grounded yet expansive.

Behind the music is a rising voice in the Swiss music scene. Solong has played festivals including St. Gallen Openair, B-Sides, Stars in Town, Lauter, Jazzfestival Willisau, and Luzern Live and a support tour with Black Sea Dahu in spring 2026. Upcoming shows include another support tour with Black Sea Dahu in the fall of 2026. In 2025, she also wrote the official host city song for Lucerne for the UEFA Women’s Euro (WEURO 2025).
