Ay Wing — No Wonderwoman

Ay Wing's EP No Wonderwoman is a tribute to femininity: the five songs celebrate the values of solidarity and the strength of community.  

The songs are inspired by the female cycle and - on a deeper level - by the different stages of grief: denial (Angel Blue), anger and rage (No Wonder Woman), sadness and depression, letting go (Ego), Reconstruction & working through (Lift Me Up), and Acceptance and hope (Trippin). 

The audiovisual work speaks to a new generation of feminists - focusing on the YIN energy, the creative, agile and soft side that is present in all of us.

No Wonderwoman is a plea to strengthen our empathy, sensitivity, sensuality and creativity, and to find balance amidst the demands of modern society: the pressure to perform and a competitive society vs. courage and seclusion.

As we grapple with a global pandemic, the five songs focus on community and collaboration - rather than competition. Vulnerability is celebrated as a virtue. It calls for solidarity among all of us.

Released in 2021, Lift Me Up, Angel Blue, Ego and Trippin have already attracted the attention of major international online magazines such as Girls Are Awesome, Earmilk, Stereofox, Lola Mag, Rolling Stones India, etc. They have been included on official Spotify playlists such as Fresh Finds GSA, Monday Spin (Spotify Japan) and played by Swiss, European, UK and US radio stations (including SRF3, GDS FM, Amazingradio US/UK, RBB Fritz etc.).
