Gaspard Sommer

Gaspard Sommer’s musical world feels like a velvet-lined haven. His way of composing resembles a conversation held in a low voice: delicate and warm. A Geneva-based singer, pianist, producer and songwriter, he writes, performs and shapes most of what he releases himself.

With his upcoming album ADIEU LE MONDE, due in 2027, Gaspard Sommer moves even closer to the intimate. He returns to what has shaped him: love, family, childhood and gratitude. Moving between alternative pop, chanson, R&B and jazz, the album embraces an organic approach, led by piano, strings, guitars and a voice left unadorned. This new project continues a journey that began with his 2022 album Les Couleurs Pastel, when Gaspard Sommer chose to write in French, giving new space to emotion and vulnerability. In 2024, the two-part project Ensemble Toujours and Toujours Ensemble opened his music up to other voices and across eight eclectic tracks, the project celebrates the diversity of Switzerland’s music scene.

His music is also shaped through collaboration. A long-time live and studio collaborator of Danitsa and Flèche Love, he has crossed paths with Robin Girod, worked with the label Colors Records and, more recently, collaborated with Di-Meh and Chilly Gonzales. These encounters have helped shape a musical world where one might hear echoes of James Blake’s luminous melancholy, Henri Salvador’s gentleness and the dreamlike quality of Flavien Berger.

From the Cully Jazz Festival to Label Suisse, via the Montreux Jazz Festival, Gaspard Sommer continues to create music that thrives on contrasts: intimate without fading into the background, luminous without ever losing its touch of melancholy.
